Here's an overview of the private property selling process.
Since the emergence of the internet, private usage has continually spread like wild fire through households within the UK, so too has the emergence of online trading. Goods and services have seen themselves reach a higher audience via websites and selling platforms/portals. Even the internet/computer novice will have absolutely no trouble in buying or indeed selling a product or service online.
So, its really not surprising that this has overlapped into the property market: - people are consistently shopping for a house or property online and so it would be a bold move to decide to rely on other forms of property advertising alone. The high street remains a key focus for house hunting, but nowadays the property consumer wants to begin their search online; from the comfort of their PC chair and without the glare or pressure from an estate agent!
Speaking of estate agents, they too have realised the importance of online property advertising. In recent years the estate agents have found that to stay in the game, they have no choice but to give the properties on their books an online presence. The house or property hunter has demanded this and subsequently, so too the property seller has had to follow suit.
From the buyer's point of view, they can spend as long as they like online browsing through properties, comparing dimensions, contrasting gardens, marvelling at the latest kitchen trends, and all of those aspects of a house or property that make people excited about the prospect of moving house. For the property sellers, who don't forget are often buyers too, they can be proud that their house has its own position on the world wide web and is accessible to millions of property searchers. The buyer simply wants to find a property that suits their needs, arrange to view the property, and then decide whether to offer or not. They don't want to be offered mortgage services, to be pressured into viewing a property that isn't for them or to be left hanging around when an offer has been submitted. The property seller simply wants to sell their house or property for the highest possible price in the fastest possible time. All things considered, the consumer wants the whole process to be simplified.
This has led to the private property sales process, or "for sale by owner" system. Private property sellers are now managing the sale of their own house by logging on to MoveWise.co.uk and advertising their property online. Not only is the private property listed on the MoveWise site, but it is also listed on key property portals such as fish4homes and hotproperty, making sure that the widest possible online audience (around 2.5 million per month) can view the private property or private house details.
Currently, around 15% of private property is sold by the owner, and this number is ever increasing. More and more of us are learning to "move wise" and would much rather handle the private house sale themselves than pay thousands of pounds in estate agent fees for what is essentially an easy process. Private property sales really are the way forward for the future of property selling. The myths surrounding the property selling process, e.g. "you have to have an estate agent to sell private property" are beginning to be dispelled. For a small one off fee, a private property for sale can be advertised on the MoveWise website in record time, and not long after on the property partner sites to which we are affiliated.
Current research conducted by the OFT (office of fair-trading) has recently reviewed the private property sales process and have found that 91% of people reported that the process ran extremely smoothly. Also, most of those surveyed have said that they wouldn't hesitate to advertise their house privately again when they next move.
MoveWise also offer a professional "house for sale" sign to ensure that the local market is aware that a private property is for sale. They are manufactured in the same place as all other estate agent boards are made, and ensure that the private property sale covers all bases. The board clearly says "for sale by owner" which will also reassure the buyer that they don't have speak to an estate agent, but can deal with the person conducting the private property sale themselves.
The private property sales process also helps to remove the element of time wasting. They'll be much less in the way of property tourists traipsing through your house, and more from buyers who are really interested in your private property for sale.
